LO: to explore possible tasks and research similar products.

LO: to research codes & conventions of similar products.

what is the NEA?

  • the NEA (non-examined assessment) is a mandatory piece of creative work that forms 30% of your GCSE in media studies. you will produce a single creative production, either a music video or a magazine, in response to brief set by ocr.
  • you will take on the roles of designers, directors and editors whilst completing this project in order to created a fully realised production. in essence, you will research, plan, explain and produce a media product all from scratch.

i am thinking of doing the website based on mental health.

  • the purpose of why i am doing this is because mental health is important and because it can help people who are in need for help and to inspire them to get the help they need.
  • the target audience is aimed at the ages of 14 to 18 because people around these ages using develop with mental health the most at this time. such as anxiety, depression and others.
  • on the homepage of a mental health website its usually includes about how they are not alone, its also have the main image like people standing next to each other or something happy, its also have the main logo above in the left corner or in the top in the left hand corner, its also give you a search bar option, also having other option to check out which have links to check out also.
  • on the homepage the image are usually a group of people standing next to each other or something that just happy or joyful like in the young minds one a group of young people are standing next to each other, talking and smiling and in other one such as mind it shows a pride flag which can be shown as they don't judge they just want to help.
  • the colour scheme is choose by what the colour represent such as blue which had mean peace, blue can also be helpful for stress. purple can represent wisdom and peace. there is no one colour steam. it is usually bright and colourful.
  • the logo is on the top in the left handed corner. the colour of the logo can link to the theme because its the colour that represent mental health. having a little design such a messy drawing can represent somebody mind and how they feel.
  • on the pages on the menu bar its has many different option for you to check out and to lean from.
  • the font for the mental health website is san-serif  some website font size can be big and some small. such as for the young minds website the size is big and  for the minds website is small. i think this is used to get the viewer attention and to show that they are here to help.
  • the linked pages look similar to the homepage with the colour steam. its has the same font and gives out more information.
  • linked pages are layout neatly and organised to help for people to find what they want and need.
  • linked pages doesn't always have images, such as minds the linked pages for them does not have any images and just information but young minds does have images.
  • the logo is something that links to the what the website is about and the colour steam also.
  • the colour palette is usually bright and to link what the website is about, the typeface is san-serif and it to get the viewers attention.
  • the target audience is teenager it will appeal to them because they might suffer from mental health and they don't know how to deal with it.
